In Diacamma species a queen caste does not exist instead all workers emerge from their coccons with a pair of gemmae, only one worker retains her gammae the rest have their gammae mutilated, the worker with her gemmae becomes the gamergate and is known as the mated egg laying worker. After the old gamergate dies new workers are able to emerge from the cocoons and become the new gamergate.
 
This species is very aggressive from experience and will actively hunt prey they also have a powerful stinger to paralyse prey and will use it against you if they feel threatened so be careful, they are very hardy ants and are a good exotic ant species to keep.

We have no control over the environment outside the test tube and have no influence in the conditions the responsibility once placed outside the test tube within the 14-day period the responsibility is with the buyer. 9 times out of 10 colonies die in the nest due to lack of water access, food, temperature, oxygen or stress due to vibrations or exposure to excess light. If your colony does fail inside a nest contact us, we can advise what went wrong but it is up to you to buy another ant colony, you will succeed but sometimes it does not work the first time.
