Formica (Raptiformica) sanguinea queen with workers (Starter kit) 14th of September dispatch
Formica sanguinea are a species found throughout Europe. The ants is blood red in colour with black adomen and head. These species of formica is interesting as it is a slave maker. During summer months they raid nest of other formica such as fusca robbing larva and cocoons to serve them in their colonies they can live without slaves. They also will spray formica acide if they feel threatened but not very often they will do this.
What do you get?
You get a queen ant with and 1-5 workers which are over 4 months old and queen that is capable of living for 15 years or more she also has her own eggs (She will be in a test tube)
