  • Camponotus sanctus are a rare in terms of retailing of this species and highly sort after species they are mostly found in Northern parts of Africa and the Middle East and places such as Turkey. They are normally found in the desert or steppe which are generally drier conditions. They are considered on the bigger side of the Camponotus species.

    They are popular due to their colourations, the mixture of black and yellow of queens and especially workers and Majors makes them highly sort after. They are an amazing species for any collector, and I am sure will be well admired by any keeper.

    Hibernation: No (dispause for 6-8 weeks is optional from October to March at 15 degrees celcius)

    We have no control over the environment outside the test tube and have no influence in the conditions the responsibility once placed outside the test tube within the 14-day period the responsibility is with the buyer. 9 times out of 10 colonies die in the nest due to lack of water access, food, temperature, oxygen, or stress due to vibrations or exposure to excess light. If your colony does fail inside a nest contact us, we can advise what went wrong but it is up to you to buy another ant colony, you will succeed but sometimes it does not work the first time.
